Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 2025
We use a small set of cookies and similar technologies to keep OKAY DEV® fast, secure, and useful. This page explains what these technologies are, how we use them, and the choices you have.
1) What are cookies (and similar tech)?
- Cookies are tiny files stored on your device by your browser.
- Local/session storage store small bits of data in your browser.
- Pixels/beacons are small images or scripts that help measure usage, often without storing data on your device.
2) How we use them (by category)
Essential (strictly necessary)
Needed for core functionality and security; they cannot be turned off in our systems. Examples: keeping you logged in, CSRF protection, loading critical UI.
Functional
Improve features and preferences (e.g., remember choices like layout or last-viewed items). If disabled, parts of the site may still work but feel less personalized.
Analytics (privacy-focused)
We use Fathom Analytics to understand overall site usage without identifying you. Fathom is cookieless and GDPR/CCPA compliant by design (no cross-site tracking, no personal profiles).
Embedded content & social
When you view an embedded video, social post, or form from a third party (e.g., YouTube/Vimeo, social embeds, newsletter forms), that provider may set its own cookies subject to its policies.
3) What we set vs. what others may set
We may set (examples): security/session cookies (login state, CSRF protection) and minimal preference values (e.g., UI settings).
Third parties may set (only when used): Fathom (cookieless usage metrics), and embed/form providers (their cookies or storage used to deliver that content or service).
We keep implementation flexible to minimize breakage as tools evolve. See this page and our Privacy Policy for the latest specifics.
4) Your choices
Site banner / preferences
Where a consent banner is presented, you can accept, decline, or adjust categories (except Essential). You can revisit your choices via the banner link in the site footer (when available).
Browser controls
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Note that blocking Essential cookies may break core functionality (e.g., logging in, saving forms).
5) Global Privacy Control (GPC) & Do Not Track (DNT)
If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out from sale/sharing where applicable by law. DNT is not standardized; we prioritize GPC where supported.
6) US state privacy (CCPA/CPRA and similar)
We do not sell or share personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you believe a vendor has placed a cookie that qualifies as “sale”/“sharing” under your state law, contact us and we’ll review and address it.
7) Retention & security
- Essential cookies typically last only for a session or a short period needed for security/performance.
- Preference values may persist longer so your settings stick.
- We minimize storage and rotate values periodically.
See our Privacy Policy for broader data security and retention practices.
8) Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page when we change the tools or categories in a meaningful way. Material changes will be clearly indicated by an updated “Last updated” date.
