VueXYZ
VueXYZ is a collection of Vue composables for creative coding. Unlike other creative coding libraries that simplify rendering to a canvas, VueXYZ doesn’t render anything for you. Instead, the composables return reactive data that you can use as you see fit. You may decide to take the data and render it to canvas or SVG, or you might use it to drive animations, or anything else. You could chain multiple composables together to create complex shapes or compounded effects. The choice is yours.
Frontend Nation '24
In June 2024 I had the opportunity to speak at Frontend Nation, the largest online frontend event in the world, alongside a bunch of talented people. Challenge accepted. I took to the stage as the closer of the final day of talks on day 3, and delivered a talk that provided no educational value at all, instead opting to inspire and have some fun with the participants in a highly interactive 3D experience running in the browser. Using Three and cannon-es I crafted a series of factory scenes” where participants played as rubber duckies driving forklifts — with the goal of preparing resources for a new creative landing page hero section.
Tough Tech Wall
Client: The Engine @ MIT
Agency: Sosolimited
An innovative, content-driven digital artwork for The Engine @ MIT’s headquarters, designed to dynamically showcase the transformative work of their associated companies and founders. Positioned in the lobby on a 22′ high, 11′ wide screen, the artwork uses Vue and canvas animations to render rich, interactive visualizations at 60fps in 4K resolution. The application pulls data from multiple sources, including GraphQL and real-time publication feeds, managed through a custom-built service architecture.

About

I'm Simon — an independent interactive developer.

I specialize in designing and building Vue/Nuxt projects, ranging from landing pages and websites to digital artwork and open-source libraries. I'm lucky to say that I really enjoy what I do, so it never feels like work.

I'm drawn to projects that demand quality workmanship — favoring unique designs, micro-interactions, animations, and meticulous attention to detail. Whether I'm involved early in design and prototyping, or later in production, I'm constantly thinking from the perspective of the user, making sure that I'm putting something out there that people can actually use.

Over my career I've had the opportunity to collaborate with some amazing teams of talented people, from emerging startups to established digital agencies and multiple Fortune 500 companies. I often act as a go-to partner with agencies — supporting their in-house teams, leading projects, and delivering best-in-class work for their clients.
