I have been prototyping some "creative" effects for my portfolio (pim.dev, check it out), this is one of the explorations, which i scrapped for obvious reasons 🥴 it's screaming "2016" to me
That effect is crazy indeed, haha! I've never really loved the distortion effect that webgl is synonymous with as I feel that it actual takes away from the visual. Hoping more people use its power in more meaningful ways! Still fun to see!
I feel the same way entirely, do you have any suggestions on what I could do instead? For my folio I have strictly been focusing on best-practices and content so far, but i'm itching to add something "creative" to it lol

I'd love to see you lean into organic app-like UI more. You already have some UI like this, but playing more into FLIP UI transitions and spring eases could bring a lot of life to it.
You could experiment with the Work layout (add more visuals).

I do like the max-width as a concept, but I think with all of your content the desktop layout could benefit from more. Specifically, on your detailed case study breakdowns. They are great, but I'd prefer to see visuals and read about it side by side.
!! Thanks so much, I'll give it a go
