Vaulk designs modular shelter systems for sensitive environments: high protection, fast installation, total discretion.

When we started, the product didn't exist yet. Nothing to photograph, and no visual language to borrow either. The category sits somewhere between civil engineering and military hardware, and it has no established look on the web.

So we built one, and I handled the 3D and the motion.

The whole promise of a shelter is that it holds. So the site had to show it holding. I built the demonstrations: an explosion, an impact, and an attempt to cut through the concrete with a saw. Three attacks, nothing gets through.

Around that, wireframe 3D for the drawn-plan feel, and interface animation tuned to read as instrumentation rather than decoration. The pictograms carry it too: standard technical iconography, animated in a military register borrowed from game HUDs.

Awwwards singled out four elements from the site. Two are mine: the 3D wireframe on scroll, and the Rive animations.

Awwwards Site of the Day, May 2026. CSS Design Awards Site of the Day, plus a Site of the Month nomination.

Made with LEOLEO Studio, with Keny Zachelin on development.
